Training teachers remember

Hands-on professional development in the classroom approaches we know best, led by people who still love teaching.

“This training is needed. In every school. For all teachers.”

That was Christina, an early years teacher from the USA, after one of our workshops. It is the reaction we work for. Our training is practical, varied and grounded in how children actually learn, so teachers leave with things they can try the next morning.

We have led teacher training for schools on pedagogy, classroom management, school marketing, mindfulness, values-based education and more, through workshops, whole-school sessions and training programmes.

What teachers say
01

We are specialists in

Eight areas of training.

  1. Assessment for learning

Assessment for learning checks students’ understanding, knowledge and skills during learning rather than only at the end. We have many years of experience helping teachers become real collaborators with their learners, which lifts both engagement and achievement.

  2. Classroom management

Learning cannot happen without it, and yet so many schools struggle. We help teachers manage classrooms in ways that put children’s emotional wellbeing first while letting teachers keep their cool in challenging moments. A win for everyone. Our training draws on a wide range of techniques grounded in contemporary educational thinking.

  3. Differentiation

Meeting the needs of every learner in the room is one of the hardest parts of teaching. Our approach encourages teachers to become risk takers and to build a wider repertoire of skills, so learners become more engaged and take more responsibility for their own learning.

  4. Enquiry-based learning

The hum of a purposeful classroom. Students asking questions, chasing answers and taking charge of their own learning. That is enquiry-based learning in action. It gives learning meaning and raises teaching standards, and our consultants have developed whole-school approaches to it in China and Thailand.

  5. Values-based education

Schools often tell us they want more balance and a more holistic approach to learning. Values-based Education answers that by changing a school’s philosophy and approach. We have embedded it in schools through whole-school workshops and training.

  6. Play-based learning

Play-based learning has become popular in early years programmes, but building a play environment that genuinely supports learning is not easy. We help schools move from more traditional teaching to classrooms where children lead their own learning through play and teachers become facilitators.

  7. Learning in the early years

The first years of school lay the foundations for a happy, successful life. We have set up and led early years programmes and a school, and we offer fresh thinking for this age group, from designing the environment and planning phonics to teaching strategies and assessment.

  8. Mindfulness in the classroom

The key to a happy classroom is a happy teacher. Mindfulness helps children with focus and managing emotions, and it helps teachers stay calm and composed when things get difficult. We have led mindfulness training for many years, in schools and beyond them.

The set up, timing, environment, activities were exceptional. This is by far the best workshop I’ve had in 6 years of international teaching.
